Final call to enter the Grierson Awards

Grierson 2013: The British Documentary Awards recognise outstanding documentaries that demonstrate integrity, originality and technical excellence, and social or cultural significance. The closing date for entries is Friday 31 May 2013.

All categories are open to documentaries made anywhere in the world so long as they have had a first UK screening during the qualifying period, May 2012 to 30 April 2013.

There are two new categories this year, Documentary Presenter of the Year and the ITN Source Best Documentary on Current Affairs.

Shell Best Documentary on a Contemporary Theme – International
Best Arts Documentary
Best Historical Documentary
Best Science or Natural History Documentary
Most Entertaining Documentary
Envy Best Documentary Series
DocHouse and The Bertha Foundation Best Cinema Documentary
CTVC Best Newcomer Documentary (carries a cash prize of £3,000)
Best Student Documentary (carries a cash prize of £3,000)

A shortlist of eight entries for each category will be announced on 30 July and the final four nominations in each category on 17 September. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London in early November.
