Two projects receive IDFA Bertha Funding

growingupinoilThe Guitar School by Miriam Menacherry and Maheen Zia, and Growing up in Oil by Anabel Cristina Rodriguez, have both received funds from the February 2014 IDFA Bertha Fund.

By supporting both documentary filmmakers and organisations that promote documentaries, the IDFA Bertha Fund (formerly known as the Jan Vrijman Fund) enables documentary practitioners in these developing countries to find their own unique voice. The Fund not only provides financial support to realize this endeavour, but plays a crucial advisory role as well.

For the February selection, the fund considered around 300 projects from more than 65 different countries. 10 projects were selected, with both The Guitar School and Growing Up in Oil receiving funds for production and post-production.
