After a successful World Premiere at IDFA 2014, WorldView supported The Dream of Shahrazad will have its London premiere at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival in March 2015.
Using the metaphor of Shahrazad – the princess in the famous collection of stories known as ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ – and filmed before, during and after the so-called “Arab Spring”, the film weaves together a web of music, politics and storytelling to explore the ways in which creativity and political articulation coincide in response to oppression.
The Dream of Shahrazad will screen on Tuesday 24 March 18.15 at Curzon Soho and Thursday 26 March 18.30 at the Barbican. Follow the film on Facebook and find out more information about the project on the film’s website.
